Don't worry if you have only a couple of days to explore Dublin it's a pocket-sized capital and virtually everything is within easy walking distance. It may be small but there's a lot in it. So, the best way to ge to know what's what is to drop into this church which is nowadays a tourist information office; here you can pick up some maps, guides, and if you have come here on spec, perhaps pray for help in finding a room. How can they get some actual information before they actually arrive here?
Well, my advice would be for them to phone the toll-free number from the UK. How about accommodation, Is it easy to get? No, basically it's not really that easy, especially in the city center and if you're only coming for two or three days you would be better off to phone in advance. Will you get accommodation anyway? Yes, you will…. Somewhere New hotels and B&Bs are popping up at the same rate as Irish boy bands, they can be expensive, but a cheap choice could be staying in the many hostels around, like Avalon House, a five-minute walk from the center of town. This is our twin room, it's much like a small hotel room really, it's en-suite and it is quite simple but let's be honest: there's so much to see out there, all you're gonna do is sleep here. South of the river Liffy is where most things are; here you'll find Temple Bar, the Bohemian quarters of Dublin packed with live music, bars, galleries and cafes. There's a real mish mash of things to see here so take your time, this is a place for browsing. And whatever kind of art you're interested in, it's right here. This is Meeting House Square and they have a great weekend market here but during the summer this becomes a free outdoor cinema and that's the screen. At one end of Temple Bar you'll also find Dublin's famed fish and chip shop Burdock's.
And it's not just Dubliners who requent this place, which fries for the famous. Hi ya, cod and chips please. OK, no problem Now, I know you've had some big stars here (Tom Cruise, Sandra Bullock), I wanna know who ate the most. Well, probably B.B. King - came in once with at least two body guards and BB King got three fish & chips for himself, and his bodyguards got the same and the three boys went outside and ate them in the limousine. He eats so much and manages to keep his figure
